A PST file is a file with a *.pst extension. It is a ‘personal storage table’ file. This kind of file is used by Microsoft Outlook to save your personal data (emails, schedules, contacts). How to change the default PST file location

The following folder is the default location used by Microsoft Outlook for your PST file:

C:Documents and SettingsusernameLocal SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftOutlook

To change this location, you must change the ForcePSTPath value in the registry. Here PST Repair Software you will get all the infos you do need to repair the PST file. To do that, you will have to do the following:

? Close Outlook.
? Click Start, and then click Run or hold WinKey+R.
? In the Open box, type ‘regedit’, and then click OK.
? Find the following subkey part of the Windows Registry.

For Outlook 2003: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice11.0Outlook

For Outlook 2002: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice10.0Outlook

? With the Outlook subkey selected in step 4, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click String Value.
? Type ForcePSTPath, and then press ENTER.
? With the ForcePSTPath string value selected, click Modify on the Edit menu.
? In the Value data text box, type the drive letter and the full path of the location that you want Outlook to use when it creates or opens a .pst file, and then click OK.
